The HTC ChaCha is a touch and type phone that combines a 2.6-inch capacitive touchscreen and a QWERTY keypad. Running on the Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) operating system, the phone is powered by 800 MHz Snapdragon processor and 512 MB of RAM to run all your applications smoothly. This social media oriented Android phone also boasts of the proprietary user interface, the HTC Sense, which brings with it features such as flip to silence, customizable homescreen and all your friends' updates on Facebook and Twitter via Friend Stream.
The HTC ChaCha is loaded with a 5 megapixel camera with LED flash and auto focus features. You can also record videos using the phone camera at 30 fps. A front facing VGA camera is also fitted on the device through which you can video chat or make video calls.

HTC has specially packaged the ChaCha phone for all those of you bitten by the Facebook bug. Sharing your photos or the places you visit has never been easier than with the ChaCha in your palms, as it comes with a dedicated Facebook button that is located just below the keypad.

The ChaCha is loaded with a variety of Facebook widgets. There is a clock on this handset that provides you with all the Facebook updates as a ticker. The Calendar widget on the phone ensures you remember to wish your friends on their birthdays.
Design
The design of the HTC ChaCha benefits those who text heavily as it comes with a well-spaced out QWERTY keypad. The buttons are big enough for you to easily click and type. The back of the ChaCha is slightly bent that gives a better viewing angle as well as better grip for typing. Additionally, the phone remains scratch-free even if placed face-down.
The capacitive touchscreen of the phone, with a resolution of 480 x 320 pixels, makes for ideal viewing of websites. In between the screen and keypad, lays a row of standard Android function buttons of home, menu, back and search. On the top edge of the ChaCha are located the power/lock button and headphone jack. The volume rocker and a microUSB port are housed on the left edge of the device. The phone packs in the usual bunch of sensors including accelerometer, digital compass, proximity sensor and ambient light sensor.
Storage and Battery
The HTC ChaCha is compatible with microSD 2.0 cards. You can use the same to increase the memory of the ChaCha to up to 32 GB. The ROM installed on the phone is of 512 MB. The social networking phone uses a standard lithium-ion battery of 1250 mAh capacity. The battery serves a talk time of 4 hours and standby time of 120 hours.
Connectivity and Features
You can connect to the Internet on the HTC ChaCha using Wi-Fi and 3G. The phone comes with Bluetooth and USB functionalities for easier file transfer. The internal GPS antenna and Google Maps present on this device let you track your directions. The Document viewer and editor lets you create and edit Word, Excel and PowerPoint files. The handset also has access to Android Market from where you can download applications of your choice.
